Black Dirt Distillery
Founded in 2001, Black Dirt Distillery became the first micro-distillery in New York State producing fruit brandies and apple jack. In 2012 they expanded to Pine Island, where they were capable of producing up to 60 barrels of whiskey or apple jack each week. Today, Black Dirt Distillery operates out of two distinct facilities. The original distillery is home to two small carl copper pot stills, while the newer distillery is located in a large red barn in Pine Island. In both facilities, Black Dirt Distillery uses exclusively local corn grown specifically for their recipe and apples from their own or neighboring orchards.
